Dedicated to the memory of Tom Stokes
We are sad to announce the death of Tom Stokes, aged 77. Tom lived a full and happy life and brought joy to all those who met him. Despite being unwell for several years, he enjoyed life to the fullest until earlier this year. He passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him, and was able to see his beloved grandchildren shortly before his death. He will be much missed and will always be remembered.

Thoughts
In memory of the most amazing physician who will be greatly missed by so many people.
I first came across Tom in the early 90s at Blackheath Hospital, and he treated me on many occasions for pneumonia etc. Even when I had no cover for a consultation, he would not charge me, he was most generous and caring. As well as an amazing consultant.
I also have lovely memories of visiting him at his home, and also watching my sons playing in his garden with his children.
Thelma and his family will miss him so much, as will everyone who ever met him.

Candles
I only knew Tom for a short while since he joined our local bridge class. Both of us Irish, we enjoyed swapping book recommendations and I was always interested in what Tom thought of a book I’d recommended. He was so kind and gentle, always a twinkle in his eye - and such a sweet tooth at the tea break! I miss him now in class.
Sending deepest sympathy to Thelma and his children and grandchildren. I will see you tomorrow at the funeral and tho I know we don’t know each other, I am holding you in my heart.
